Bob Marley

Was born Was born Neville Neville O'Riley' Livingston April 10, 1947 in Jamaica. He was an original member of The Wailers and his father Thaddeus Livingston lived with Marley's mother in Trenchtown, after the death of his father in 1955 They had a death of his father in 1955. They had a daughter Pearl Livingston.Bunny was the quietest of the Wailers and rarely sang lead vocals. He was a percussionist and sometimes felt undderused d as a songwrititer. Wh When th the group dissolved Bunny went on to pursue a successful solo career. He was very much a "roots" reggae artist and spread the Rastafarian word. In 1990, 1994 and 1996 Bunny Wailer won Best Reggae Album Grammies.He is still alive today and is said to live on a farm in the Kingston region.



Peter Tosh
Was born Was born Winston Hubert Winston Hubert McIntosh October 19, 1944. He too grew up in the Jamaican slum Trench Town and met Marley and Wailer there. He would also go on Wailer there. He would also go on to become one of the Wailers. Tosh was a tall sarcastic young man with a short temper and was always getting into trouble. He sang and played guitar from an early age and was the driving force that brought the Wailers together. He taught Marley how to play the guitar.In 1973 Toshh was in a car acciddent with his girlfriend that killed her and severely fractured his skull. He became increasingly difficult and
eventually in '74 left the wailers.
Tosh was a conttroversil ial artit Hi tist. His music very politically motivated. He was always pushing his luck with the authorities and was beat and jailed a luck with the authorities and was beat and jailed a number of times. This never discouraged him and he wore his scars with pride. His song Leggalize It is an anthem for pot smokers around the world, but his success was always overshadowed by Marley.He went into exile in '83 and was just about to get his career back on track when he was murdered on September 11 1987 by ex-con that he had befriended.

Joe Higgs
Joe Higgs was born June 3 1940 and was was born June 3, 1940 and was a reggae musician from Jamaica. In the 1960's he was part of the duo Higgs and Wilson together with Roy Wilson.Is said to be the "Father of Reggae". Higgs toured with the Waillers i in the'70 in place of Bunny. Higgs is also from Trench Town and he was the first artist to write reggae about the struggles of living in day to day poverty. He recognised reggae as ghetto music. He was a mentor to the Wailers and they consider him a brother and credit him with teaching them about music and the business.Higgs died on December 18, 1999 of Cancer. Some of the more recent artist include Shaggy, Bedouin Soundclash, UB40, Sean Paul and Beenie Man.
